This house is two blocks from me...It was hit by lightning about 4 days ago during one of many monsoon storms we've had recently...The house was just completed a week and a half ago, and the owners were about ready to move in...not now!!!

According to our home builder, we are grounded somehow in case of a lightning strike...don't exactly understand how that works...It seems like any of the houses that I've heard of around here that were struck by lightning were a total loss?!
Our house in Palatine, Illinois had a lightning rod that was struck twice in the 5 years we lived there...scared the $hit out of me!  Also, The car that Sam drove to Pavillions was EXTREMELY nice.

[/ QUOTE ] Lightning is no fun. This is the tree right next to my garage. It was hit by lightning last week. It took a 4-inch section of wood and bark off from the top at 45 feet, all the way to the bottom. Very scary. I guess it was God's way of telling me I should drive my cars more often and not just leave them sitting in a garage all the time!
