Your post is titled "1968 Z-28 what's it worth???? please help"

In order to determine what it might be worth, first you must determine if it is in fact a true 1968 Z/28. There is a HUGE difference in value between a legit Z/28 and a plain Camaro. You could be talking between $50-$100K difference. That's big.

I'll be honest, I just don't see the validity of the car with what has been posted so far.

Enjoy your car, it's a nice looking Camaro and looks like fun.

I haven't read the whole thread, but if it has the orig.rear end: Bv Bu or better, a long with the 4 leaf springs, it's more likely a Z than not.I'll bet $50 this car has a single 3/8 fuel line going into the tank and the muncie speedo exit.

If some one will pm me and tell what to look at I'll check. It does have 4 leafs per side and shouldn't the cable exit closer to the center of the firewall if a Muncie car?? It will be 1st of the week before I can post anymore pics. If there are any super top secret things to check send me a PM rather than post on here to prevent more fake cars from being built.

At least half this bet would be pretty much a sure thing. All 67 and 68 Camaros had a single fuel line. All V8's had a single 3/8" line and all L6's had a single 5/16" line. Only the 69's (and later) with Rochester 4 barrel carbs had dual fuel lines.

$50 to 100K? Does anyone know of a '68 Z that's actually sold for $50K or more, other than the ragtop or an SCCA race car? Where is the market right now for a mid 90's restored (mostly NOS parts) #2 condition car with full original drivetrain and POP/dealer invoice? A friend of mine is thinking of buying back a car he restored and asked me for advice on market prices. Thanks.

A 1967 Z/28 with non-original motor recently sold for $75,000. Jon Mello just pulled his 1967 off the market after considering an offer over $100,000.
A documented 1968 Z/28 should do just as well as the 1967. The one in question here was bought for $27K so doing the math is easy.

Here's a highly documented 68Z for sale, just under the 60k mark. Nice color combo!

Ok, nice car BUT.. What do you think it will cost to make the car correct after you buy it?

No smog system, incorrect bypass fitting, incorrect bypass hose clamps. Wrong oil cap and the alternator pully appears to be the 67 style. 1967 Rally center caps. Plus a few other non-correct items.

"FACTORY CORRECT RESTORATION" should mean just that!
