I would like to have both a Hemi dart and a ZL1 camaro restored as era correct drag cars, with the ZL1 being a 1970 vintage prostocker, and the Dart being a similar vintage superstocker, both cars would need some kind of 70's funky paintjobs, with correct hardware thoughout.
I would also like to have 1 of 2 "what if" cars to use as a daily driver. My first choice would be a plain jane 1974 Camaro{I like the 1 year only factor} built to be exactly how GM would have built it if they had back in 1974.The basic package would be similar to the 455 superduty formula, which means it would have a 4 speed, and 3.42:1 10 bolt with a 9:1 454 with a smog cam, pollution tubes and everything.Under the hood would look like somebody combined a totally correct 74/454 vette with a camaro. The other "what if" would be a 74 firebird{again a 1 year only deal},powered by similarly mild smog era 455 Olds motor and a 4 speed. Most of the engine cues for that car would be robbed form how they did the later 403 cars.Either one makes an interesting'what if" car And I would have to round it out with 3 restored cars. One would be a 70 Mustang, maybe a Boss 302,or maybe a bigblock car I dont know, the second would be a 70 AMX with a 4 speed. The third would be a near perfect 70 396/automatic Camaro. So the collection wouldnt be that huge. Hemi Dart, ZL1 "What if"F body Mustang AMX Camaro I might also have a desire to build a 70 duster with a 440 six pack,4 speed and Dana 60 and dress it to look exactly like it left the factory that way. I also wouldnt mind having a really clean late model Mustang convertable just in case they really pick up in value someday. |
