Hard to argue with a Hemi Dart. What kind of exhaust did the Hemi Dart come with stock?.

[/ QUOTE ]
I thought they came with a funky *temporary* single exhaust wired up, similar to the '64-5 race Hemi cars?

[/ QUOTE ]

correct me if I'm wrong but weren't they also delivered to the "special" people honored enough to get one with a hydraulic street hemi cam?? I can swear I remember reading that.. And the owner (usually a drag racer like Sox and Martin..etc) would build, balance and blueprint the engine to their specs ?

There is only one "KING" of the supercars. The answer is...the 1968 BALDWIN MOTION, PHASE III, L-88. "IF YOU WERE TO MAKE THE PROVERBIAL PILGRIMAGE UP TO THE SUMMIT OF MOUNT MUSCLECAR IN SEARCH OF TRUTH, WISDOM AND THE MEANING OT LIFE, YOU'D PROBABLY FIND MARK HASSETT'S EXTRAORDINARY 1968 BALDWIN MOTION CAMARO, WARMED UP AND IDLING WITH THE DOOR OPEN, BECKONING YOU TO ENTER, BANG SOME GEARS, AND EXPERIENCE SOMETHING UNFORGETTABLE. THE KING! BALDWIN-MOTION PHASE III" - Musclecar Enthusiast June, 2004

-There were a lot of racing programs from the factory and other Very Mean Supercars, but Motion was available to the guy on the street on a daily basis ---building cars for customers as fast or as wild as they wanted to go.-Couldn't really get any meaner than the 454 VEGA--and then the calvary was called in to put Motion back on the reservation---So for the MEANEST --You gotta go with Motion, welds and all ---This is purely an unbiased statement--

My vote is #1 = '69 427 Yenko Nova, #2 = '68 Gibb COPO-Harrell converted 427 Nova.

The Motion cars just don't do it for me, overdone for the most part. I think the Yenko and Harrell cars were 'fast with class'

Xplant - the car I'm talking about was an ugly sleeper. Seems like in was that intermediate sized Dodge coronet. Had an aluminum grill and I think it was one of the first real write-ups about the hemi. This guy raced down Van Nuys Blvd. and blew everything away. He wrote in a way that you relived everything he did. It was great. One day I will find that article....one day.

The Hemi Dart was bad but they were no warranty not for street use weren't they? Or does it matter?
