Default Re: Goodyear polyglas tires??

I thank you all for your advice and information. When I purchased these tires I had no idea that they where originals and recapped. The person that I bought them from didn't even mention or probably know that they where. They came on a car that he had purchased. If I would have known that they where recapped tires I wouldn't have bought them. I also figured what are the chances that I would end up with original tires. I'm really bummed out about this. They just arrived yesterday and I'm going to contact the seller to find out what we can do about this. I just wanted to check with you guys first to see if I would be making a big deal out of this with them being recapped. I will see what I can do about getting a few pictures posted. I don't have a digital camera but a friend does so I will see if I can barrow it for an evening. Here is a picture of a car with similar tires on it. I know this is one of the guys from this sites car. I had saved a few pictures of it. Sorry if it bothers you that I used it. I just wanted to us it as an example of the tires that I have. Thanks again guys.

Jesse

Here is a car for sale on ebay right now that has a better picture of these tires. It's a larger close up. The only difference is that the ones that I have are 14's.

I know in NYC trucks cannot use recaps on the front----Just think if they start to peel while driving---Steering/control --The best recaps are hot caps actually heated on , but again don't use them in the front
Whether hot capped or cold capped--you should see some sort of seam where old meets new--It is more prominent on a cold cap recap------------

Hey Claude Akins--one of my favorite character actors----
No Rick--In my younger days I use to help pull maintenance on a small fleet of oil trucks and vans-------Trucks would be stopped on the street by DOT or Weights and Measures for spot inspections of meters and truck equipment---10-4 good buddy----
