I really want to urge anybody that is bringing a Supercar that has kinda thought it would be neat to try the drag strip but had never tried it before to let us know. There are a couple things to pass tech but no big deal. The main thing a restored car does not have is a overflow for the radiator and two throttle return springs. Those are easy and wont mess up your car. We can add a soda can at the track for the overflow. If you need mechanical help at the track there are plenty of us to help. You don't have to all out trash your car at the track to have fun. I'm a crappy drag racer but I still have fun.

Ray, Take the car down! You can do it! You can make 5 easy passes than stomp it when you are comfortable.

That's what I have planned, if my rental car has some balls! I will upgrade for some more horsepower when I arrive at the Hertz counter if I have to.

Actually I did race my old 327 '55 chevy years ago. But that was when a low 14 second street car was fast. Not too long after those days one of the Platt brothers ran his "then" Funny Car into the crowd (not his fault even though the crowd wanted to kill him) at Yellow River drag stip and killed 15 or 20 people. Drag racing really cooled off around here for a few years.

The memory of that and the Lingenfelter accident kind of spook me.

Laid back mildly describes it !!! Some of the guys actually "water" the burnout box in lieu of the hose. It very environmentally friendly !
