Nice car but outside of it being a Canadian version of the Chevelle, what makes it a Supercar?

Perhaps not a supercar as defined by this web site but the SD396 came with either the L34 or L35 engines. A friend and I took my '66 SD396 to Florida in February '68. Spent an evening touring around with a bunch of the local guys that we met just north of Daytona. One had a '68 SS396 Chevelle that we had a ride in. Never did see the race track but did get into a back street diner/bar. Outside was a big sign stating that only Florida residents were welcome. We let the other guys do the ordering. Had a good time and the guys really liked our Beaumont. They even gave us free use of their dad's beach house somewhere north of Daytona. We just left the keys on the counter and locked up when we left in the morning. I can't imagine that happening today.

Nice looking 69 Beaumont. Is it a SD396 car? I don't see any SD emblems on it. There are not very many Beaumonts in the states. As far as I know, I have the only one in South Carolina.

My guess is that it had a vinyl top ot one time. Look at the last picture of the car. Looks like the rear window trim is missing.

Check out the Emblems between the lights as well. Makes them look odd spaced wider apart but I will say it is a nice looking ride.

People just don't get it - Please remove that Pontiac license plate - naughty, naughty, naughty

Beaumonts are indeed very cool. We usually get between 10 and 20 at our annual Northern Chevelle Gathering in Niagara Falls, NY.
