[/ QUOTE ] The author of the article Art Armstrong explains "The other GM divisions, Cadillac, Pontiac, etc., had much smaller production volumens and interpreted the GM Records Retention Policy differently and therefore retained said documents."

Sounds pretty clear to me. The record keepers at the Pontiac division just weren't as quick to pitch their records in the dumpster, and not because they had any great foresight or because they had any intentions of releasing them to enthusiasts, but because the paperwork simply didn't stack up quite as quickly at Pontiac as it did in the Chevrolet offices. Sounds to me like the Chevrolet paperwork is MIA and has been for some time.

I personally think that we will never see it as enthusiasts.......

Well after reading the first thread about jim it started out saying Corvettes are almost done....So that means he knows where paperwork is hiding more than Art or someone is not telling the truth. After reading about PHS i have faith in Jim that he will uncover more than you all think.

When I was conected a few years ago, I had someone very high in GM tell me it would never happen even if they had the records. They did not want to have to be constant expert witnesses in court. I was led to believe on the hush that if the records were found, they would probably not be found.

According to Jim Mattison, no one from Pontiac and/or the PHS has ever had to testify in court. The papers are considered legal documents and treated as such by the courts.

IMO, much of the paperwork exists, just a matter of getting everyone, inside and out side of GM, to work together. When will that happen? Who knows, but hopefully sooner then later.
