Motion did recommend a bigger cam to get maximum performance from the L/88 -- PHASEIII "S"model--.560/.580 lift--or PHASEIII "C" model--.585/.605 lift----(Competition Only "ROUGH" idle You should be running a 456 or an even better 488 with these cams---Charlie Mason was running a early L/88 CAM .540/.580 in the early days- -Then switched to a Motion J grind( which as someone mentioned was the letter signifying L/88 cam )--I would guess it was the same grind as KO-MOTION---PHASEIII "C" model of a J grind--Will check further----

O.K.--JR Replied back--"You can use the L/88 535 cam or the LS-7 cam I think it ends in 108"---Thanks--Joel

Hey Thanks everyone, Woow, great info. I'm suprised to hear there were so many diffen't grinds! I just love hearing about the good old days! I wish i could have expereanced the hey days but i'm only 34! Does anyone know who was the camshaft grinder motion used? Crane? General Kinetics? ETC... just wondering!
