Joe,
I felt the same way. I was 16 (had to take the bus in). I was just knocked over by how young they were, and surrounded by all that "new" high perf stuff. And Joel presented himself as a professional, clean cut, suit and tie, successful and confident. What a new beginning and era for common car guys who lived and breathed hot Chevys. Hard to describe the impression that made on me. I was just in awe.

Mosport,
I have a "very, very" thin lead about car locked up here in NJ, but nothing substantial. Joel gave me the last number he had for Richie up in New England, but I was never able to get through to him.

Verne
PS: No, none of us really left. I don't know when that picture was taken, because when I was there, they were 3 deep around those ropes.....

Looks like the one sign says "don't be a performance dropout"

Verne, I know a fella that knew Richie Brown and he said he bumps into him in Florida. He tried to contact him last year for me, but the number he had was no longer good.According to him the car was not with Richie anymore.

Joe,
I don't know what I did with the old emails from Joel, but I'm pretty sure he said Richie sold the car to a local guy not long after he stopped racing it. Then it disapeared.
It may have been painted black.

Maybe Chevelleman has a lead, since he made the inquiry?????

Close-up crop of the '67 show photo. Note cylinder head (aluminum maybe?) on the Camaro's hood just behind the guy in the white shirt.

Motion-prepped '67 drag car. Stinger emblems look like a "427" with "SS" underneath? Note the girl at right reading a pamphlet. Potential B-M Supercar customer???

No Sam, The one near E-town I've been trying to find was a metalflake purple one owned by a couple black fellows. They used to race it there in M/P in '68-'69. That car disapeared too and I can't find anybody who remembers it.
The "black" one was south of me and reported to be on the street in the '70s.
