My POP has the GM logo on the tape---I know there was some blank addressograph plates and printers floating around on e-bay. but is the tape with the GM logo another POP check for authenticity ?......

Joe,
------Dont take this to the bank but I believe that dealers back in the day used to run out of the GM supplied tape all the time. I think some of them found that the regular Dymo tape was both easier and cheaper to procure. Some dealers happened to run out and had to use regular tape on a few cars until they reordered. I have seen several instances in the land of Corvettes where the tape was not GM embossed..............Bill S |

I agree with Bill, the majority of POP's had the GM tape, but when they ran out they used off the shelf tape. On my black Z the dealer used black tape, which is not that unusual.

The GM logo tape is not a sure bet of orginality. I have seen a few dozen rolls for sale on ebay and else where. There was even a brand new (NOS) GM dynamo machine sold there too.

Is this really worth this much? I have a warranty plate, window sticker, three build sheets and owners packet on my old '69 Indy Pace Car. It must be worth a fortune....
