I talked to the guy at Sweet Thunder about a 2-1/2" chambered system for my 69 JL8 car. How did you like the result of what he did for you? I didn't get to see the tv coverage from the auction so I didn't hear it.
Jeff.

If you're not gonna go dead nuts factory correct like the Gardner system, Pypes Performance Exhaust just came out with a 2.5" mandrel bent system that uses a transverse muffler...looks pretty good. CLICK HERE

Don't feel bad, Bud, I've got the Flowmaster system on our Camaro and a repro chambered on the Nova, but now I'm wishing I woulda waited on the Pypes setup!

That will definitely be a possible option now. Since I'll be running the Stahl headers that look like the original GM style there's no way I'm running a stock exhaust on the car that will strangle the motor. I'm still leaning towards the 2-1/2 chambered but I have plenty of time to decide.

I talked to Mike at Sweet Thunder and had them build me a set of chambered mufflers. Their description was: "CAM XX(AL... 1969 Camaro chambered mufflers (aluminized)w/2.5" inners, 2 fronts & 2 rears"
It was on their invoice # 7109.
They sounded great, very loud, almost "get a ticket" loud.
The biggest problem I had was getting around the rear axle. I had to do it in two pieces. Bought the polished tips from Flowmaster and had to re-cut the tip angle because of how they had to be mounted between the springs and body. Send me your email and I will send some pictures.

Bob

That's what Mike told me before, it would be a little tight with 2-1/2" chambered around the axle area. I'll shoot you an email when I get home, thanks.
Jeff.
