DOH..had RS lenses pasted but the other link saved...click on tailight lenses and you will see the straight red RS lenses with the stainless bar across the middle left to right.

I have seen the lenses and they are not RS lenses. They are standard lenses with a red lense where the white/clear lense is supposed to be. MAybe somebody cut out a square in the bumpy part of the lense and popped out the center and glued it in. It looked real to me and if it wasnt original, they did a great job of it. It looked like it was on the car forever, not some new lense.

Now, back to the space saver spare. I would like to know if the space savers ever came mounted on Ralley wheels. I have a perfectly good space saver spare (BF Goodrich, I think) but no wheel. Also have an extra Ralley Wheel. I always thought the space savers came on a generic grey wheel.

Any body know?

Lynn

http://www.villagephotos.com/viewpub...&selected= Budnate, click on the Link here, Not the Attachment. There is a Bulb in the middle and it works as a Brake light. I saw another White COPO Camaro with the Same Tail lights in a Magazine Article recently (within the last couple Years anyway)when the previous owner got the Car, and did research with the Camaro Guru's of the 80's, he was told that only 30 Space saver spare's got mounted on Rally wheels. The First Owner's Brother has Confirmed that the Car came Brand new with Rally Rims and a space saver Spare as well. When was the GM strike? was the Car built(First week of May) preceeding the Strike, Possibly with Disgruntled workers putting what ever came in the Parts bin on Cars as they came down the line??

Could the lens be a replacement from back in the day? Glo-Brite and Dietz both made a lens in the 60's 70's that were collision replacements. They were a good quality lens until the reproductions came out. There biggest flaw was they were not 100% visually correct. It may have been a RS replacement.....

As for the space saver,I have never heard of a rally wheel used.It would have to be a special code 14" rim to be correct.I believe the offset is different as well....I have the option in my 68.....Hurry up spring!
