Thanks Kim, but let's not forget the man at Gibb Chevrolet, who upon contact in 1989, giving a lot of information that was entirely new, that many of us did not know. Fred Gibb was so willing and excited to talk about these Novas and why they were built. For many of us, this was the beginning of quite a learning experience and history lesson for speciality built cars for the dealership in LaHarpe. Personally, I had seen several of the cars competing at dragstrips within my area, including the Fuscia colored Nova competing at KCIR. I never gave any thought about having a car that had a direct link to this eye catching race car until talking with Fred? I only knew I had a DHPC car built for me in KC? In saying this, for one, I am ever grateful I had the chance to talk with him and learn some of the history behind my car. After sending original paperwork to him, he disclosed I owned one of 50 cars he had GM build for his dealership. A lot of us had seen the ads about the Novas in Drag World, but yet like myself, didn't think a lot about it at the time? Yes, Fred Gibb Chevrolet deserves a lot of recognition for going the extra step beyond, in getting GM to build speciality cars that helped keep Chevrolet competitive.
