If it's "not restored" then why does it sit so high, as if it had new springs? Nice colors though. Would make a fun cruiser.

Charley hit the nail on the head here. What a poor presentation of a fabulous car. I remember doing a tune up on a customers 4 speed 409 in about 1972. Of course I had to "road test" it after the tune, right? Absolutely no traction, so it was hard to know what its potential really was. Don't worry, I didn't abuse it, just checked it out. Still, I thougt it was a great car.

It sure looked to me like he had hydraulics in the suspension....it looked like an unrestored SUV in those tiny pictures.

I'll just add this:
I looked the car over very well back in the late '80s when Don Wattie owned it. It is real. It is legit, and it was truely unrestored.
What the seller failed to mention was that the car was in someone else's hands in NY for a few years between Don and this seller, and it went through some "upgrades". The fellow in NY is well known for his "unrestored" cars. Many years ago we gave him the nickname "Clearcoat". That car now has more NOS parts on it than most restorations.

Oh, and when Don owned it, it sat as it should.

Verne.
