There is also a nylon mesh filter made by AC Delco that will fit where the original bronze filter went. It will only keep out the big chunks. It was used in some marine application. I'll check tonight and see if I have any left and get you the part #.

Rob--------Can you run your car with an inline filter in the class you compete?---I would be curious to see if you got a lttle boost on top end with a larger filter free flowing filter--------------We use to chuck them and install inline filters------I'm just posting this because it would be a good test----------------Joe

If you are running good clean gas the sintered bronze fuel filters will do fine, IMHO as long as you change them frequently. They do clog quicker than the paper elements. Of course, for all out racing (which is what the Chevrolet Power Catalog was addressing) there is no question a large in line filter gives more protection.
Just my 2 cents. Lynn |

I'll keep looking and when I find them I'll post pictures and part #'s.

They do make paper pleated filters to replace the bronze units

I've ran the paper filters before, and the ones I had didn't seem to fit *just* right...so I eventually went back to the rock-type filter...but, I may look into the mesh units John is speaking of...
