Yeah I can attest to the TH400.. I had a '79 Jeep Wagoneer years ago with a strong 360/TH400.. the clutches in the trans went out so I rebuilt it completely myself and did all kind of little tricks to it along with installing a full competition shift kit.. basically it was everything a full drag race trans would be except for making it reverse manual shift..

It was awesome .. I destroyed 2 Quadratrack transfer cases with it

It was the only Jeep Wagoneer around that would chirp all 4 tires on each shift.
