$750K for a '67 L-88 of that magnitude ( heck any '67 L-88)...seems like a relative bargain in view of this years manic driven BJ auction results....

Toyvet,
------TimG's 67 400/427 green roadster has a few more miles but is a better car in my opinion and I know both these cars pretty well. Please dont get me wrong, as its only by a point or two at most. Pauls car is a piece of artwork. Up at this level I think its more about how the car was treated very early in its life that makes the difference, and Tims car was absolutely pampered from the day it was delivered. Many years ago (circa 1980/2) a friend of mine in Chicago called me about this car possibly being for sale. Upon arriving at the original owners house we spent about 20 minutes unwrapping the car before we could see it. It was a dry winter day and he wouldnt roll the car out of the garage for us to look at it because he said it was cold. The owner then decided he just couldnt sell it and we went home very disappointed! ------It was many years later before he did sell the car and after a few careful owners in the middle Tim is now the caretaker. You guys should see it (spectacular)!!!!.........Bill S ------P.S. Im sure Roger Judski (owner of the L88) is real happy with the present values of 67 Vettes in general. Wonder what the 12 mile car is worth today? |

Those are part of the frame right behind the trans and all the Vettes have them even if they have side exhaust.

Bill, thanks for the very kind words about my car. I think that the green car was the best one that Chris owned, still not sure why he sold it to me. I enjoy hearing stories about how John Palm had it stored and pampered. I'm not real familiar with the blue car anymore, I was wondering how it compared to my car. Thanks for the update.

--------I told ya, Tim, he's getting away from sidepipes!!!! Dont ask me, he must have just wanted the car to have a good home.
--------He just bought a low mileage unfound 68 L88. E-mail him and he will send you a few pics.........Bill S |

The 12 mile car had the bottom of it painted white or something didn't it? I have a Corvette Fever magazine from the late 80's or Early 90's that had a whole article about the car being bought to go drag racing they brought it home painted the bottom of the car white and then parked it in a warehouse in (Chicago)? I think. Didn't have the money to race it or something like that.

Chris sent me pictures of the blue/blue L88 roadster, it's heading off to Nabers for restoration. Probably will be seen at 2006 Bloomington. It's a pretty neet car.
The 12 mile car has original paint and interior, the engine is a replacement and the chassis has been worked on, still an amazing car. |
