I use mine for my daily driver. Mine wasn't that clean when it was new either.
What do you mean by bumpy paint? ![]() Do you mean the factory lacquer cracks/spider webs like all the original paint GN I see? I know GM was repainting them for FREE only if you were the original owner. You have very nice paint there. How is that possible because the GM plant that built them was the worst in the entire World. The power antenna just started to run on and on, so I unplugged it until I get it fixed in the spring. That is a simple fix. If this is an easy fix then tell me how to fix it cause mine is stuck up and buzzes so I unplugged it ![]() ![]()

By bumpy paint I think he means it still has the factory orange peel and that it has not been cut and buffed. I had an 87 442 with 9,000 miles and it's paint was mint too. I guess not being in the weather and such helped to prevent the cracks and spider webbing that a lot of the GM cars had back then. Nice GN Bandit

After reading my ad I should have specified the factory bumpy paint is the lower body has a gritty aka bumpy paint from the factory. I guess GM thought this would be chip resistant. GN's that have been repainted will no longer have this bumpy paint. The factory "orange peel" paint could be called "bumpy" too
![]() This paint looks like the day it left the factory...bumpy paint and orange peel. LOL! No cracks, fisheyes or spider webs. Its a wonder these cars are not real bad quality since the plant was closing down after the final Grand National rolled off the line. Quality in 1987 for any GM, Ford or Chrysler car was average to say the least. I am surprised at the 7 GN's I have had, no squeaks or rattles. Now the 1989 Turbo Trans Am Pace Car I had, that is another story.... ![]()
