Sam
I pulled the records & found your 6E Chevelle is actually a July built Chevelle at Lakewood. 6E is when they started, which was a Tuesday.July 1st was Wednesday. The Last VIN# built at Lakewood in June 70 was #177542. |

Rick,
What records that you have indicate the actual build date of my car? I was not aware that such info was available. Thanks nonetheless! Sam ![]()

These are Chevrolet records of the LAST VIN# units from each plant for the model year 1970.
If I tell you where I got them,I'd have to kill ya.. ![]() |

Hmmmm..... seems like a small price to pay for being one of the few in-the-know. Even if it were for a short time!

Rick,
Sorry, abit slow on the up-take. I think I understand now. The last VIN built in June at Lakewood (per your docs) precedes my VIN. Now, given my VIN being about 330 or so later can you assume which day in July it was built or do you know it was built 1 July? Sam

Right now we can only guess from other examples.
I would guess yours was rolled out the factory the first week of July.As it was usually hours or days after the cowl tag date. NICB would be able to show when the car was dropped off & signed for at the selling dealer, but I can not access those records anymore. |
