My early-70 has a distribution block on the sub frame. Partway through the production year, GM made a change and consoliated them up under the master cyclinder.

bbbenny's 69 L78 does not have one. Brake lines and set up is original.

That's what I thought, the changeover was in early/mid '70 production. Then, we started looking at the '69 Novas a little harder, and can't seem to find any with the block on the rail. Could it be a design limited only to early '70 production?

What are the dates of your cars? Maybe we can nail down the start/stop weeks of when the Novas had the duhicky on the rail.
My '69 is an 02A build. My '70 is an 05D build. What's your build date Alan, I know you have an early car. The NNN giveaway car was a very early '70, dated 10A, and did not have the duhicky on the rail.

Marlin,
I'm pretty sure the NNN giveaway car DID have that junction block on the subframe. Mine has 09E on the cowl tag. Most of them that I've seen built from 08B through the calendar year 1969 with disk brakes had that block.

Hmmmm.... Ok, that would make sense then, so this block is unique to the early '70 Novas only?

Nope.... look on the outside of the sub-frame under the driver's door to see if there is a brake junction block mounted there.
