How about a 69 Yenko Nova that is stored away, supposedly the original 427 Yenko engine sold on ebay and owner did not want it because he is going to put a 454 in it when he restores it. A friend of the owner has had my number for a couple of years now and I'm still waiting a call. Every 6 months or so I call but nothing yet.

Next door neighbor has a 67 Chevelle SS 396 with about 70000 miles on it in his barn. Every couple of years when he cleans out his barn, he'll get it out and let it sit in his drivewway, you can't see it because of the trees and bushes but I stop every once in awhile so I'll see it out. He was thinking about selling and he quoted me a price of $3500. When I went back, he had put it back in the barn and decided not to sell it. He also has a Mach 1 he drives to church during the summer. As well an old Honda. He bought the Chevelle and Honda when he was in high school back in the late 60's. Think he bought the Mach 1 new. He won't sell a thing, tried to buy a mid 60's Chevy van off him and he would not sell it, said he was going to fix it up, think the axle is completely buried now sitting behind the barn along with other treasures.

Thanks Mark for starting this thread...I've enjoyed reading all of the stories.

In 1998 a friend that I worked with told me about a guy that ran an auto garage in a little town outside of Auburn, NY. The guy had at least two 69Z's, one orange, one black, two '69 pace cars, one with a 396 and two 65 or 66 Shelby mustangs. The guy had owned the cars for years and most sat outside or in barns. I drove by his service center several times but never got up the nerve to ask about the cars. Fast forward to 2002, my good friend calls to say that George is cleaning house and is selling his cars. I was there the very next day but all were gone....all he had left was a 72 buick skylark.

Interestingly enough, the guy at one time also owned an Orange Yenko Deuce that was sold from Bresee. That car is part of a nice collection in PA.

I'm still kicking myself in the a$$.

Mike
