I don't think he would let Joe and Erik anywhere near it! There have been some famous quotes to arise from their visit to the shop

[/ QUOTE ]

Heck, I was wondering for a few minutes if i was even going to get a look at the car i was buying ... j/k I was amazed when that door opened up and there sat 2 Yenko Deuces in about the least likely location you'd ever expect to find them... it was about 5 degrees that morning, and i had just spent about 7 hours driving through white-out conditions... I thought i might be seeing a mirage! That was just about a year ago to the day! Welcome to the site Chris... I wish i DID get a chance to see that orange car... -JB

I could tell you guys plenty of stories. As far as how fast the red car went. At NY international on a cool late aug. evening it ran 13.38 at 108mph. Car was jetted perfect.
108 oct. fuel, the car had been running consistant 13.5's all night. ended up breaking out on that run. dad had a .503 light which wasn't unusual for him. I think i still have the slip somewhere. It might even be in the glove box of the car. not sure. If I remember correctly we went to michigan 2 weeks later and didn't run any faster than a high 13.6 and that was the evening prior to the main event.

The deuce by maple grove is/was a clone, I spoke to the owners. It was actually created by a father/son team in Ephrata, PA at Twin Pines Motors used car dealership as a fun project. To my knowledge, the car was sold, and I lost track of it.

Very likely that it is the same car. The one I knew of looked like it needed work. In other words it was not streetable. It always sat outside, 1/2 covered up at times. Faded yellow with what looked like correct style stripes.

If it's not the one you are thinking of, maybe I'll take a ride this weekend.

Local legend has it that there's a '67 HEMI Super Stock Coronet tucked away in a nearby but very secluded and highly guarded garage. One gentleman I've spoken to claims to have actually seen it, and supposedly it's a legit W023 4-speed car complete with S/S hood scoop, trunk mount battery, radio delete, the whole nine. He told me the quarters have been cut for slicks, and a cable drive tach was installed on the dash top, but outside of that the car sits in the plain white wrapper it was painted in back in 1967. I can't imagine there are too many S/S cars left to be discovered, but enough details about this car have been passed around that I fully believe it does or at least did exist. Maybe someday the car will surface and it will be known if the "legend" is true or just an old bar room BS story. I have to agree that the hunt is possibly the best part of the musclecar hobby.

I have been Hunting and Finding great Cars since the mid 70's when I could not afford what I found!! 2 months ago I wnt back to a place I stopped at 26 years ago. Back then ther ewas a 1964 Galaxie with 16,000 original miles. Owner ordered it new. It was Black with Bucket seats and a 4 speed and console. under the Hood was one of the Most fierce looking engines ever produced! a 427 with Dual quads, oval Air Cleaner with the Thunderbird logo and 427 laid across with Checkered Flags! to top it off they even had Cast Iron Headers! Sadly the car was not there, But the Old Guy I spoke to all those years ago still was! That was a treat in and of itself. He told me all anbout buying that car and racing it back in the sixties. then he told me about the guy who came and bought it in 1993 for $1500.00 Dollars! Presently I know of an excellent, totally original COPO Camaro for Sale. a 69 Z-28 for Sale, and I am a Ford Nut and extremely frustrated as I know of 3 Shelby Convertibles that are not for sale! Go Figure!!Willing to trade leads on the Chevies for FORD MUSCLE !!

Supercar Kid
There is a '67 Hemi GTX or Coronet(can't remember which) in Hopedale Ohio outside of Steubenville. I saw it 9-10 years ago and the guy wanted $30K then-should have bought it but just built a house. Was a race car with mini tubs, maroon in color car, Cragar Super Tricks- was race car beat up but very rust free.
I think the guy may still have it and he knows what he has.
