Yes there was but not until 1996. Under the hood and on the factory floor mats my 1996 SS Camaro is badged 'SSZ28'

[/ QUOTE ] I could be wrong but was thinking some overseas SS badged 1st gen cars got the 327... I also believe there were 283 equipped Camaros sent overseas...
