Did the car have a tank sticker ? Yes. Was it #'s match 435 engine ? Yes... It might all be restamped made up crap but if done correctly it would pass muster at a NCRS event. Legally I'm not even sure the seller is doing anything wrong. Did the seller claim it came that way when new ? Probably not. As long as he is not swapping vin tags the rest is a very gray area. Now a car dealer might legally be held to a higher ethical standard but I won't hold my breath. Barrett-Jackson is bringing buyers and sellers together. They can't tear down each car and check all their histories. If it gets to the point of nothing but bogus cars at the auction they might have to look for a plan B but for now it is still a great place to be.
