Come on now! First the teaser story about the black/gold 1969 prototype ZL1 and now a totally fictional and fabricated story about some supposed 38 mile ZL1. Whatever! People are not stupid enough to believe this story. This is obviously a pitiful and feable attempt to draw attention to one's self. (Mo)Midtown Madman would be better off writing stories for the supermarket tabloids than trying to sell this fairy tale. And to think that he was missed by some!

Mark,
I am not sure what your problem is but I never claimed this car to be found or exist. I was considering the possibilities of such a situation as this ever becoming a reality, although unlikely, and was looking for opinions and intellegent input from board members here. The entire idea of this possibly ever happening and 38 mile fiqure was merely a situation I was giving thought to as I do know someone who aquired a 70 Hemi Cuda with that number on the odometer and was considering the comparison of value between the Cuda and the ZL1. A constructive opinion on this issue would be more beneficial to everyone rather then childish insults for which I will not feed into that ridiculous banter. Anything is possible in the search for these cars, this board is a constant reminder that the location of the rare and long lost happens on a reguler basis. I as well as everyone else here would be overjoyed at the thought of finding such a car, I can assure you this "Hypothecical" situation is just that. An opportunity for some thought and different opinions. It is interesting that some of the stolen cars Charley, not I, mentioned have never had any of the parts located. Take a Valium. Motown ![]()

A car like this will probably turn up in the future. It is fun to daydream about events happening like this. When I first saw a pic of "Little Hoss" in 1993, as I read John Hoopers reference book on the ZL1, I thought "what if it was ever found, it would be..........". On a chance phone call to Texas a year later, I remembered that picture, and the rest is well, so to speak, history. What are the chances that my car, a one of one, would survive 25 years, and then turn up? It had been sought for years, and nobody could find it. The same can be said about Tom's Harrell '68 AA/FC, and the Harrell '67 Yenko Funnycar, they both also turned up unexpectedly.
My take on something like the price on a car of this stature is whatever the highest bidder would want to pay to have a highly desireable collectable commodity. What did that Cobra Coupe go for recently? what are Duesenbergs, and Bugatti's going for? ![]() Somebody would anty up, who has money to burn. ps. The "insurance company" is probably insolvent and out of business. |

Motown.....is this like the 2 mile 64 GTO of your cousin had from the radio station sweepstakes, the Draggin Deuce you supposedly found, or maybe the junkyard full of Berger plate frames and emblems, or how can I forget the abandon tire shop that went out of biz in the 70's or maybe the fan favorite, where you and your biker posse were gonna go up and force that Green Yenko out of it's owners hands in Wis?? Please stop the NONSENSE....I am getting a headache just thinking about all of it!

Frank,
This was simply a "What If" post to generate some intellegent conversation and opinion....which unfortunatly leaves some here out of it. When was the last time you found a six figure lost legend? Read the next issue of "Victory Lane" magazine, you will find it to be interesting reading on my last stroke of luck and dedicated research. Motown
