That Z-28 was pretty much always like that. It had skinnys up front and wide wheels and tires on the rear It had the original Goodyear Polys and wheels on it when I sold the car to Gary Baker in Meadville, PA. I had to get the front end aligned when I put the original wheel and tire combo back on it. Ken Pascoe then bought it and then it went to Pat Joiner, and it did go to another member here. I purchased it from Don White. I have a bunch of pics I took and copies of all the paperwork that car had with it.

No it was in Jamison , PA when Baker bought it out of my garage , I have a scanned copy of the old title. Jamison is about 7 miles north of Warminster.

I believe it had the off-road LT1 cam in it?
I remember when Baker came to get it, we couldn't quite get together that day.

That is correct regarding the cam, that car also had GM High Impact drag gears in it. When Gary bought the car from me, I gave him the smog set up , original gears in the replacement gears GM box and I believe the original bump stick as well as other original parts that belonged to that car. The smog set up is mint as it was taken off the car almost immediately. That car had the build sheet, protecto plate, original owners manual etc. When I fired the car up in my garage Gary's eyes lit up, that car does sound awesome , I know a Mopar fan down the street from me was glad I sold it he did'nt like the idea of a small block blowing away his Hemi car. Don White had the exhuast put on it, it's a flow master system with custom bent 3" pipes with the factory chrome extensions it fits perfectly.

[/ QUOTE ] DaJudge, those gears and bumpstick never made it to Pat when he got the car, but a host of other NOS and original pieces did, including that smog system. I wondered who had that system put on. It was actually a 2-1/2" system with the 40 series mufflers and they did sound good. We were going to put the original manifolds and exhaust back on the car, but it would have killed the engine from the amount of backpressure it would have created. Now the system is gone and a set of 18" x 3" collector extensions that I fabricated are in place. It gives the car a killer Super Stock sound! All the current owner needs is a set of 10" wide slicks and it would jerk the front wheels off of the ground! ![]() ![]() |
