No doubt Bill. And this was a case of it as the color and trim sheet lists the choices of black and white interiors only. Orange houndstooth was obviously next to come.

That car must have been the product of a bunch of workers having fun.

Hate to say, but, other than Ander's Nova, none of those combos sound real funky or unusual.
Dozen 69's in Silver with Red guts in the db.
15 Gold with dk green guts.
Black with tan guts is still available today!
I have to say I think almost any non-black interior is cool/different/interesting.

A customer could get nearly ANY interior color he wanted back then.Just like the exterior paint schemes,those interior color choices in the dealer albums were merely popular recommended suggestions,not "Mandatory take it or leave it decisions".

Silver with red guts was a common color combo in Mercedes. Many Gullwing cars were that way in the 50's.

A guy in our club here has an '80 Z/28 Black with Silver vinyl interior. He's the original owner. Disco Rules!

Just remembered I had a Silver 79 Z-28 with Carmine (Red) Guts. That was a while ago.
