Default Re: RAIV and RAV more continuation....

But it won't be so expensive if people start making the parts.

Example: The exhaust manifolds, Ramair would scan (and not hurt) the A logs or long branch. Then produce low volume molds to reduce cost, I roughly figure for under $30,000 you could have a couple of dozen sets of one type. If one set of the 3 known originals went for over half that, it seems feasible to me.

Lets say for discussion you could produce 30 sets of A for $12,000 mold and design, then 30 sets production cost $400 each total 12,000. If custom headers are $1000, then a set of cast should go easy for $1000. $24,000 total cost and $30,000 gross sales equal $6,000 profit. There are possibly enough A bodies on the road with V and people sitting on a few more sets of heads because you can't get the other parts (intakes/manifolds), it would be very feasible to think you could sell 30 sets.

Now say some one produced some heads, maybe 200 sets. Instant supply is produced to create demand, for intakes and manifolds. I can see some one selling 200 sets of RAV aluminum, if they were in the 2 to 4 thousand range. I just spent $3,500 on E's and would have much rather spent $5,000 on aluminum V, and I would have done it.

This isn't the last motor I will build, and I am far from rich.
