Thanks guys (and gals). FINALLY was able to get a copy. A couple of typos, but overall very well done. You can tell McClurg has been at this magazine thing for a number of years.

Also today, got my judging sheet back from Chevy Vettefest today, scored a 989. A big thank you to the VF judge, not only for the nice score, but for pointing out a couple of things that could use some attention.

Pretty good score Tom...at least you are not a crybaby and take the judges input like a man.

Thanks, and a big thank you to Mo, Rob, Johnyycat, Otis, Jonathan, the guys at Mr. Dent and several others who lent a hand in the restoration. Also, the Nova guys, Brian, Schonye, Marlin, Allen and all the other folks who were kind enough to offer advice and help locate parts.

Now that the Nova is done, time to find out what everyone knows about Yenko turbo Vegas.

Now thats a score I like hearing about since like yourself and Rob, I also am restoring one of my 68's by myself to see how it turns out. Seeing that someone can get such a high score and then end up with that high (Gold) of award makes me hope mine will turn out 1/2 as nice. Guess it goes to show that you dont have to spend 60K to get a car restored with repo parts and still take home the GOLD

Congrats!!! it was nice seeing the Car at SCR7.

Jeff, one of the really neat things about the hobby is the willingness of what I call "the real experts" to help out. Never once did any of the Nova guys refuse to offer advice and/or get on the phone to help me locate a hard to find part, even the ones who make their living restoring supercars.

BTW, the boys are telling me, now that I had had the car judged, and won gold, it is time to drive (I think they mean race) it. Hum...

Tom...turbo Vegas are really kind of crappy....you should just let me have it so I can put it in my yard and let my kids play in it.

I would, but everytime I mention turbo to MO, he gets this "deer in the headlights" look in his eyes. He, his dad and brother Stacey used to be into turboized pulling rigs, all shapes and sizes. You should of seen him when I showed him the original Yenko turbo blueprints.

And I even caught Rob logged onto an H-body forum discussing how to build hi-horse turbo Vega four bangers. Rumor has it, Rob is going to give up Pure Stock drag racing and start hanging out with the younger "turbo crowd".
