The 4-banger was available through '70, unique to say the least.

In Highschool,a friend had a 4Cyl in a Nova.We use to skeech off the back bumper in the wintertime.
The engine was so weak,2 of us would literally hold the car back at WOT. Good times..

Yup, a friend bought one new, 4 cyl. and 'TorqueDrive' transmission, which if I remember correctly was like a shift-it-yourself Powerglide or something
