Canucklehead,
--------While I can see where someone who hasnt been to B/J would have the opinions you do about the auction, most of what you say just isnt true. For starters; B/J isnt any dumping ground. Getting a number there is a really difficult proposition. You just about have to start right after the auction the year before. Its very difficult to just "take it to the next auction" when the next auction is B/J. --------Yes, there are impulse buyers there. My thought on that is that those guys who seem to be paying too much feel they can bring it back to B/J to recoupe all or most of thier money another year. Weather they do or not I cant tell you. As well, because of all the auction action in and around Scottsdale in January I think that collector cars seem to have a somewhat elevated value year around in that general vicinity. --------The vast majority of buyers that are sticking thier hands up are knowledgeable about the cars they are bidding on. The smart ones who arent knowledgeable about a particular car either find or have with them guys who know what they are looking at. --------Although it doesnt always happen, I have heard of several instances where fraudulantly presented cars had thier deals reversed or where the new owners were compensated in some way enough that they were satisfied with thier purchase. --------For those buyers wanting to come to Scottsdale and get a smokin deal and leave with a car they can immediatly sell for a profit, you better do your home work because it isnt easy. Not impossible, just difficult. Not trying to start an arguement just stating my thoughts on your statements..........Bill S |

Olred said it perfect. Funny thing is most of the cars bought are dealers who have NO inventory, and some true collectors. They will be back again stocking up inventory !!
Pay high today seems cheap tomm !! One guy told me awhile back: You can pay me a million today or you can pay me a million tomorrow. I hope he reads this on the site, and I will never forget it. It sold for a million and climbing still today... ![]()

Yes it is true that i've never been to BJ, but i have been to several auctions here in Canada. Some are better then others. The ones i've been to have been buyer beware, now maybe BJ is different i'll find out when i get there. It sounds to me that BJ does what they can to weed out the shams, but i would also like to know what to expect once i get there. Im glad to here that they are an auction house that has some ethics.
