1. Because it doesn't have a 427 side-oiler.
2. Because it doesn't say "Holman-Moody" or "Motion" or some other high-dollar connection in front of its name.
3. Falcons were basically economy-oriented grandma and wife cars and not known for high-testosterone performance capability, not even the Sprint models. Hell, Carroll Shelby referred to the early Mustang as a "secretary's car" before being convinced ($$$) by Ford to improve its performance image.

But you already knew this.

Poor old (yawn) Falcon. My parents owned two, a new '62 and then a new '66.

well then this one is right up your alley Bill. you can run the kids around in it and tell them about how you rode around in one just like it..how cool is that?? heck they can jump up and down in the thing and nobody would care...

I will even check the timing and make a dash plaque "Tuned by Bud" that should bump up the value.

Yeah! I used to play with my Matchbox cars on the rear package tray while my Mom ran errands in the '66! No kid's car seats or seatbelt tickets in those days.

I almost accidentally killed myself when I was 4 years old. I was standing on the driver's side of the '62 and I released the parking brake handle. The car rolled backward, the open driver's door knocked me over and the left front wheel just missed going over me. The car barrelled out into the street and up on the neighbor's lawn and stopped. Another neighbor drove up and saw me looking dazed and figured out what I'd done. That was a close one.
