Yep, there was most definitely a '74 Z (as stated above). My 1st car was a 74 Camaro...and if it was a real Z, I'd probably still have it. Here's another currently on ebay.
This one also looks a little suspect (missing rear sway bar, wrong stripes etc etc). But, then again I personally think these stripes look nicer than the "mistake" decals that Chevy used in '74 anyways. And, the body tags on the '74 were very similar to the '73's and if it's a Norwood car will denote whether it's a Z on the tag.

On a side note, if you're interested in finding a particularily cool '74...look for one that had both the Z-28 package along with the "Type LT" package which deleted the Z stripes and left only the side and rear Z emblems w/ some LT badging on the side of the roof. Stealthier and without the gaudiness of the stripes.

Actually the Z stripes/decals were an option. Only about half the cars built had them. It was/is a love-hate thing with the stripes or they grew on you. Without the stripes, Z emblems were placed on the body. The LT option added a deluxe interior, some trim details (that could be ordered separately) and more sound deadening material. Here's a pic of a LT Z28 with stripes.

Here's the front. This is a low mile car that was being sold on-line.

Many moons ago when I lived at home my older brother had a '74 Z/28.
At the time he was working in downtown Vancouver & would take the bus as it was only a short ride & downtown parking costs are outragous!
I started taking his car & heading up the Squamish highway, It's a treacherous highway which is carved out of the side of some mountians with Howe Sound directly below it. (They changed the name to the 'Sea to Sky Highway' which goes to Whistler Mountian, very curvy.)
The car was a blast with the L82 4 speed .
Come to think about it I don't think I ever told him
maybe one day I will
Ahh, the good ol' days!
