I got from it from www.ls1.com.au a Holden forum. Still unsure if that hood will be standard on the Holden but the word is that it is 90% sure for the GTO but you never know. Heres another pic.

This statement is coming from a Mopar guy. So please take that into consideration when responding. However. Looking at the new GTO so far, it doesn't remind at all of the original cars (I literally mean, "AT ALL"). Unlike the Ford Mustang which I think will take the car purist by surprise, what's the attraction to this new GTO. Thanks, Patrick

It was not susposed to lool anything like the orig car. Does a 4th gen camaro look anything like a 1st gen? The essence of the car is the same though. The first GTO was born from a rather plane (for the time) looking LaMans. GM has done the same with this GTO as it looks like your typical 21st century coupe but packs a punch.

I understand the recent camaros were nothing like the 1st generation camaros. However, you could tell which family tree they came from. I think the history of the GTO speaks for it self. It was a great car. I just don't think GM has done just with a car with such history. Show me something with some real GTO roots. Patrick

The problem with retro styling is it does not sell. The VW bettle the Prowler, the T-Bird and I think the new Chevy Truck (if it ever made production ) they are really interesting to look at, talk about, but they don't sell.
(Mini is the exception ,,but then again its a Bimmer )

Why you guys go on about GTOs I have no idea, they actually never ran too hard you know. Even some our our touring cars could hose them off. (high 13s quarters ... but 160mph top end ) Mopars and Chevs ran hard, Stage 1s and Cobra Jets were also good, but 400 Pontiacs ???

I hate to sound like this, but some of you retro guys should just get over it, or you will lose one hell of a car.

GMH I have to agree with you....at least on the retro styling part...this GTO doesn't look retro but it goes like hell from what I have read...and getting better next model year...

I finally heard a GTO ad on the radio the other day---The GTO was going thru the gears---reminded me of the old 60's ads---Nice sound----They gave the 1/4 mile times with the optional 6 speed ,but they slipped my mind-----
