Default Re: Does this trim tag look right to you guys

I think the rivits look tampered with but that doesn't mean the tag doesn't belong with the car. Typically the seam sealer or dum dum looks like a drip or paint run in the center of the rivit. Rick has given you a good list of things to look for. IMO more real RS cars are on the road without the relay for the headlight washers than have them. After 35 years the wiper motors don't tend to be orig on most cars. My feeling is the relays were not put back on most of these cars when the wiper motors got replaced since the headlight washers were not very effective at doing what they were made to do. Nobody really cared about the washers until recent years. You can't get a repro part today and if you find one on ebay it will cost you an arm and a leg. I bet you couldn't get a replacement part from the dealer after the car was about 5 years old...

Look for the correct hole in the dash for the vacuum hoses. It's just above the fuse box and hidden by the power brake booster. Check the holes in the front inner fenders the crank goes through and the holes in the rear valance for the backup lights as they were stamped out not drilled or cut.
