With today's technology, I'm sure you can get valve springs that meet the Z-11 cam spec, but with smaller diameter wire, so if it's set up right you can have the valve lift with 690s without coil bind. Just can't do it with stock springs. Some people have tried to machine down the spring seats on 690s and hit water. And in the worst case, the seat didn't break through until after after the engine was running......nasty result. Verne.
