I live in the sticks so we don't have DSL or high speed cable service available. I can get satelite service for a $600 installation fee. Guess I'll stick with dialup.

You got to be kidding me I have had verizon dsl for four years now and its
The best thing I ever did in four years it has all ways worked I have four p/c s on line right now that is on all the time plus my fax and phone all work at the same time I blow
My neighbor s Comcast cable out of the water his is all way down or it so slow
I now running at 1.5 speed and it rocks When verizon go s to all fiber who knows
What speed we will get Had a friend that had a problem with dsl I looked it over
Turn out it was at his end phone line all messed up If you are haveing problems with you phone it sure sounds like problem with your line and NO I do not work for the phone company I see that you in philly all my friends that live near me that has verizon dsl all love it I know it works good in philly Like I said before check out you line in the house if you have a lose conection it will not work right
one more thing do not use the soft ware the verizon gives you the get on line using wind -poet and get a linksys router and your internet will be on all the time

Norm... I have 2 computers hooked up on the line, no phone problems, had it for 2 years and never one prob. Occasionally when it rains for a week straight i'll have connection problems but other than that nothing.

The dsl is now hooked up via the wireless router LinkSys and NO verizon or linksys drivers on my laptop ...OK it's fast and i'm happy all it took was some number like 192.168.1.1 typed into internet explorer .... like my wife tells me when we go out in the 66 Whoa baby slow down your going to fast ....thanks for the advice

Rick glad you got it up and running the next thing you will what to do
Is down load zone alarm for a fire wall because of the router you are all ways connected
They have a free version that works well
