Ed helped us finding an apartment and let us use his garage to gather the original hiperf stuff we bought. But he wasn´t really interested in it, that´s how I remember it.
Ed, Becky and their son Aaron lived on 1819 Washington Ave SE. I´d be glad to get in touch with them again. That´s their black car in the background. A Monte Carlo Aero coupe ? Don´t remember more than that Ed talked about the rearwindow and Nascar. Was it special ?

I'll see if I can dig him up. Yes on the monte. The rear window was special. It was more areodynamic for nascar racing.

------Anders,,,Montes did have an aerodynamic rear window, but unfortunatly thats not it. The car in the pic is a 79 or so Caprice.........Bill S

But the rear window on that car still had to do with Nascar, didn´t it ?

Here's one of the Poncho AeroCoupes that popped up for sale here in Canada a couple days ago.. Being a Canadian documentable car also less common than the Aero-Monte's, it'd be cheap fun for someone that should appreciate in value over the next decade too?.

------By 1977 when that series of Chevys came out NASCAR had downsized to midsize models several years prior along with both the other manufacturers......Bill S

Yes I think that is a 79 Caprice.
When I was in Chicago in May 1979 AVIS gave me one such Caprice because they didn't have the smaller car I had reserved in advance. I didn't complain about that ![]() Jan |
