Roger
What year was that Camaros Car ad placed that you show? In the 80's one local car dealer,(C&E) opened up on Sundays for "Preview Only" of cars in their showoom. They claimed not to be selling, but they were found to be indeed inking deals, and delivering on Monday. The Il.States Atty quickly put a Stop to them opening up their doors at all on Sundays. |

I spoke with Jim. He thinks he bought the Black 67 in 82. I think he had to pay about 8K for it. One of his old employees was working for the dealer that had it and told the dealer that Jim was interested in it. He tlked to the owner and the owner agreed to hold it till about 10:30 AM on Monday morning. Jim was there and had it bought by 9:30 am. He added the 427 emblem on the spoiler and the Yenko emblems on the fenders. He also added the emblems on the hood. The large 427 numbers on the fenders were always there. He said it was orig paint when he got it and you could still see the outline of the old emblems on the fenders. In his conversation with the orig owner it had the spoiler on it when it was sold new but thought the dealer could have added it because it took till 68 to sell it. The spoiler might have been added to try and help sell it.

Some of the early Camaro 427 conversion cars used the flags and separate "427" emblems from the '67 Impala SS 427. The flags are a wider V than the Turbo Jet flags and the 427 is a separate emblem mounted above the flags. The first Dana Camaro, converted from a 350 car for Ole Bardahl, had these flags.
