Don't rule out the TH400 on a 1970 L78 Camaro just yet..Charley hint hint.

[/ QUOTE ]

I am a little skeptical about the white L78 with the TH400; it may very well be 1 of 1
but until he comes up with a build sheet as far as I am concerned that car is a
Conversion. I don’t understand what the problem is with showing it, I have been in
this hobby long enough to know that anything is possible, Even a 70 SS/L78 with a
TH-400. I have also learned that talk is Cheap, I hope that one day he will show it and
it is for real. That would really be something to trace back to see how and who had it
built.

L34 Camaro’s had 2 fuel lines going to the pump. Only the LT1 and L78 solid lifter engines with a Holly had a single line.

He has come up with a build sheet. He has shown the build sheet to many people. He has brought the build sheet to Camaro club meetings. The people I know that have seen it are smart enough to know a fake. The guy has absolutely no reason to make it up. He does not want his build sheet out there all over the net. He has dug his heels in about giving it out partly because of all the experts saying he is faking it. Come to Ca and ask to see it . He will probably show it to you but I don't think he is gonna let you make a copy of it. He drives the car to club events sometimes for everyone to see. I myself have not seen it yet because each time he has brought the sheet to a club meeting in his folder of paperwork on all his cars I have not been there. I'll still bet anyone 5,000.00 that the build sheet is real. Any takers ?

Charlie it was my understanding that he would not show the build sheet to anyone. Bob Routt offered to fly out at his own expense to validate Jack’s car. Hear is a quote from Bob. (((“I have offered to fly at my expense to look over and document the car and look at the Build Sheet. When it came crunch time the owner backed out and was never heard of again”))) Charlie You are well respected by myself and the rest of the Musclecar/Supercar community and if the day ever comes that you can get a glimpse of the paperwork on Jacks L78 and YOU agree that it is real
I will then be a believer and I am sure the rest of the people that also share my opinion will agree that it is in fact a 70/L78 with the (M40) option. The one thing “We do all agree on” is that it is a Very Nice Car. I don’t blame him for keeping his paperwork confidential and not posted all over the internet………………

Im confused, thought we were talking about the orange camaro in colorado. It's easier to keep track when only talking about the car this tread is about. Roger

You're right Roger.
We are referring to a white 1970 L78 Camaro in calif.,that was talked about on this site in the last year or so.
Of the 600 1970 L78 Camaros built,it was always "Assumed" they were all manual trans. cars, but this White camaro has a TH400.

I thought we were talking about the orange Camaro here in Colorado also...
Prolly need to get a different thread going on the white one...even though it isn't for sale really. Right?

Oh well, I don't care either way. I'll shut up and sit back with my popcorn! If someone needs more info on the orange one, let me know. From Nasty Z28,etc, I see that there is no 2nd gen. registry...so I'm not gonna go yap at the dealers for info if nobody really wants it. I can't afford the car right now, so I don't want to waste their time!

I do love the knowledge on this board. You guys are amazing!

My Bad, I guess I got a little off the original subject, Hey at least it was an L78. John you have
my email keep me posted on the Colorado Camaro. As Chuck mentioned earlier it will be tough
to prove if it is an LA car, Try to get someone to open the hood so you can check the trim tag and
fuel line. Someone in the area has to know owns that car if it has been sitting for all of them
years.
Thanks for your effort John

Scotty Karate.... Has there been any news regarding this orange car? It seems that the interest in this vehicle has died.
