Just steamed cleaned the car.. Found LS2 written in Crayon on the bottom side of the core support...

LS 2 is common for the SD cars in 73 on the rad support. I think the valve under the engine may be some Calif. emissions type thing, Nice car.

I will go take it off and get a better look.. Since the Pontiac guys don't know, I wonder if it is the remains of one of those quick oil drain things....

That looked fuel line related, and for it to mount on the timing cover like that with the angle it makes me wonder. Not too many aftermarket companies would engineer that funny angle.
