In the book they explain that there were other models used when displaying the car. Here's a rare shot of same pose with some real cuties!!

Anybody know what the front emblem on this car says? Who customized this car, Barris?

I was wondering about the fender emblems, not the grille.
Thanks,

I believe it says "Waikiki" and then "By Chevrolet" under it like the Camaro By Chevrolet logo. The car was a Chevrolet concept car. There was susposed to be another one with a pickup box instead of a trunk called "Caribe" but I've never found a pic of it...

The Waikiki Camaro & Caribe Camaro were 2 Camaros built by Chevrolets Show & Display Dept.,rather than the GM styling Dept.
Chevy found that it could build mildly Customized show cars faster and for less money in it's own exhibit shops, rather then having Bill Mitchells boys do it...which really pissed Bill off.
I have a good friend who had Polaroids of the Caribe being built,as well as an original Concept painting of it,and is still in touch with the Designers of these 2 Camaros today.
Sadly,as of yet,no one can find out if these 2 special Camaros still exist.....
