Got mine today as well... In addition to the stunning appearance, quality workmanship, and supple leather, another thing i can attest to is that these are EXACTLY like the first 5 that were made back in the 80's, as I was one of the lucky few people to get one of those when they were released... I remember waiting almost a year from the time i ordered it until the time it arrived. (LV's turnaround time was much better!) The ONLY difference between these new ones and the original 5 is a super-cool embossed leather patch on the inside on the jacket stating that it is specially made for the Yenko Sportscar Club. A very nice finishing touch! Truly an awesome jacket Steve, you should be commended on your efforts to put this deal together for us! Thanks!!!

Now wait a minute Joe.........If you ordered a Yenko jacket in the 80's you would have been a kid back then so what is the real deal with your age??????

Frank,
The original jackets and this "new run" of jackets were made in India. The "proto" jacket was made by "Red Dog Leather Co" in about 1988, whereupon 5 additional jackets were ordered as promotional samples for the import company, wholesaler. The importer sold product in large volume [block-orders] to distribution companies, so they wanted samples. Problem was...the importer fell upon tough financial times and never paid for the original order. These jackets sat for 3-4 years pretty much ignored as just "an unpaid order gone bad". In about 1992/93 the manufacturers sales brochure included a picture/rendering of the sYc/Yenko jackets and the 5 original jackets were sold to a different distributor [and paid for]. For some reason, it took several months for the jackets to arrive from India [the manufacturing plant ownership had changed hands], and the people that had ordered them just had to wait. Now, as for Joey's real age...only his Momma knows for sure . SS |

Your right LV, now that i think about it, it was 1993 or 94, not "the 80's"...Although I still woulda cashed in my comic books and took a second paper route to buy one of these back then just the same!
