Here is the other that is VERY similar. Bill Jacobs Chevrolet is still located in Joliet, IL which is about 35 miles out side Chicago. They do huge business in new Corvette sales today. They were roumored to have been a supercar dealer that sold both Yenko and Dick Harrell cars. This dealer decal is NEW but they have been EXACTLY the same since at least the late 60's. I saw an original owner family 69 Nova SS L78 4 speed last summer at the Joliet cruise night. The original decal was still on the back of the car and was identical besides the usual age wear.

The Ferrell Hicks and Bill Jacobs decals are even almost the same exact size. They are the same length wise but the Ferrell Hicks is a tad bigger width wise. They are also both printed on reflective sheeting.

BTW Marlin please help me with that info!

Here is an ad that I got from the Dick Harrell website originally posted by Valerie Harrell. It is from Drag World 6/19/70 and lists Bill Jacobs Chevrolet in Joliet as a dealer.

I am in the process of researching Bill Jacobs and will let everybody know the outcome.

Frank
I know a Mechanic who worked at Bill Jacobs back then.I will ask him about the Yenko network..

Jeff
Does that DH emblem on Kevins Camaro have a painted on Grey background,or is that background physically part of the DH emblem itself?
On the 1970 DH Camaro, this same embem has a Yellow outline painted on the car itself behind the emblem.

The white is painted on background under the emblem. I had the sad task of doing the inspection of this car this past Aug, I have to figure out how to get a test drive section put into the inspection sheets from now on

I had first said the area was Grey but it is white sorry for the wrong color info.

Thank You Jeff.

Frank
I talked to my friend who worked as a Bill Jacobs Mechanic. He says Bill Sr. was not promoting the Yenko/SuperCars cars as heavily as he was his own cars.It was never really his Forte.
As stated earlier, just because you were a Dealer in the Network, didn't always mean you sold a Yenko Prepared car.
My Friend does not remember any Yenkos being solid from Bill Jacobs Chevrolet, but he does remember seeing some ads showing them in the network back then,as has been shown recently here.Again no solid proof, just him going by his memories.
It wasn't until Bill Jacobs Jr. took over in 1978,that they really added more performance orientated cars...

Frank, you are right that these two decals are almost the same. The reason is that Bert Ferrell was Bill Jacob's father in law and for a time they were in business together. It is true that Bill Jacobs is still alive and well in Joliet and yes we are still using the same decals, but only on the older Vette's and other muscle cars. there is an updated decal on the newer stuff. However if somebody would like a new older style decal I would be more than happy to send them out to anyone who wants one. Also I can confirm that we did in fact sell a few Harrell cars, but I'm not sure about the Yenko cars. However any info on that would be appreciated.
