musclcar,
It can be like a puzzle--- Go carb to unsecured fuel block ---get the fittings started in the carb and the block and then start to tighten each fitting a little at a time until they are tight.-----If you have to do any shifting for position ,you will have to back off on some or one of the fittings to give you play to secure fuel block.----You can use a light sealer on the threads(compatable for gasoline).-----If you don't tighten them flush to the seat they will leak, that's why tightening them a little at a time will give them a chance to seat properly---JoeG |

would also running a edelbrock TM-1 intake and 1" spacer have something to do with it also.i got the bowl fittings to stop leaking ,but that 3/8" line that goes into the block looks like it's not lining up .there seems to be a slight gap between the fitting and pipe on one side that you can see from the fuel block.it almost acts like the 3/8" line is to short or not bent properly.would snugging up that line to the block then tightening the lines to the bowls help.oh i almost forgot i'm also running a set of old cal- custom finned valve covers,so if i take the spacer out the 3/8" line looks like it may come in contact with it. thanks though for the info [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/

--You did't say that
TM-1 mounts the carb on an angle right plus you've got a 1" spacer----the fuel block set-up was made for the factory setup---just use the chrome 3/8 dual fuel line set-up from Holley---Thats what Motion used.---JoeG |

I had to tweak the float bowl lines to get everything lined up. Stainless can be hard to get sealed up.

musclcar,
Didn't mean to mislead you --my second comment was aimed at the bracketed fuel block that gets bolted down(Your 1" spacer would throw it off).-------If you have just a fuel block without any brackets then you will still have to play with the lines or tweek them as Keith T. said----after some swearing and cursing it should go together---JoeG Go to the B/M site I put up a web--scroll down to engines, you will see the dual feed gasline. Everybody used rubber gas line connections back then. I kept mine in as it came from Motion(new rubber gas lines of course)---- |

thanks JoeG well after about an hour of intense concentration and a few choice words said out loud it went together . i found out the thick aluminum gaskets that go between the bowl and the fitting don't seal to good.and i did exactly what you told me to do,the fuel block is not bolted down it floats.i also never new the TM-1 had the carb slightly angled until you told me and i can now see that, again thanks for all the info

i've got another dual feed line laying around i'll put that back on,but i really like the looks of that other fuel line.you said motion ran a dual feed ,did they run alot of rubber hose.do you have pics of a sbc with a close up of the fuel line routing.what about running two lines off the carb to a regulator then to the pump.i remember seeing something like this back in the late 70's.i'm just looking for that classic high peformance look and i don't like braided line [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/
