Keith Tedford,
Your right, but why take a chance on the old rubber???
Do the job twice??--take a chance of extra movement when the rubber gives too much, engine has healthy torque, --fan clips the radiator---,could go on--but, that's just my opinion and JRSully's choice ---JoeG

Thanks for the help folks, I don't know about any interlocking metal in a BB mount, my original split/cracked through the rubber and is definitely in 2 pieces, where as the other is ok and one piece. I was just told that the more expensive repos sold through JW Nova's and the like work/fit well. Spoke to Kenny at Ground Up Resto parts, looking to have a very close repo done latter part of this year. Thanks again for the help
