Default Re: Factory Stock Drag Race - June 14-15, 2003

Yeah, as Pete said, I had a disappointing weekend. The torrential downpour we drove through on the way up turned a 14 hour drive into a Gilligan-esque 19 hour ordeal. It was wet Saturday morning, and a fog rolled in, so we sat and waited Saturday morning until 10 something. My first run out of the trailer Saturday morning resulted in having to be pushed away from the ET shack, and since racing was over at Noon, my day was over. I *thought* I had it fixed, as I got a couple passes in Sunday (after having to disassemble the carb TWICE before getting to run), but in the first round of the matchups I got the ole "red eye" and the tranny left again. So, my weekend was done, which sucked, as it cooled off and the barometer started to come around a little. Once again, I choked and only managed low 13s, which was about 3 tenths and 2 MPH off of my previous weeks performance. I have YET to run a 12 in a Pure/Factory stock race, other than the F.A.S.T. race in Martin. But, it could have been worse, just ask Brian.

JJ ran some .30s, but I don't think he improved on his MPH. Yeah, Dudek went quick, but I still think a white Chevy is gonna be first into the 11's...

I had the car all ready to run, and was actually gonna try and relax at an event for once and actually WATCH some racing, but the tranny had other intentions.

Oh, and Rising was running 13.3s@104 the few times I got to watch any racing.
