Jeff, yes, I caught that, sorry Rick, but I have so busy fending off the likes of Belair and such that you are right, I am starting to forget $hit. Besides, I was so busy singing along with the Dean Martin song I couldnt think straight while I was trying to respond......Marlin thinks I'm a geezer, Belair thinks I'm a yup, and Jeff thinks I got alszheimers. What a cruel world we live in...woe is me.....

I located the magazine this Nova was in that I sold, has some really neat history. The magazine is from the early seventies, "Basic Engine Hot Rodding" by Hot Rod, the article was by Gray Baskerville. The car was called "Lil Chevy Wonder" raced by a John Avery at Irwindale Ca Dragway in 68-69. Has been stored ever since as all the work as current on the car was done back then, including the block being decked,(original engine). The only thing different on the car today is the lettering has been removed, even has the same SW gauges and fenderwell headers as in the magazine. I talked to one of the older guys at the new Irwindale Speedway who remembered the car and has photos he is sending. If I had known all this detail when I represented the car for the seller I would have bought it myself. The ironic part of the article is the last paragraph, "So the next time you come across a classified ad which goes something like this...For Sale-low mileage Chevy II SuperSport only driven on the weekend, a 1/4 mile at a time, by a lean old lad from Pasadena, you can pretty well guess that car will be John Avery's Wonderful Iil Chevy" Not kidding, that is the last paragraph in the article. I bet the owner or writer had no idea it would be 35 years later and that statement came true, with the car as un used as it was then. Talk about time travel.....
