Frank: I tell ya, it does indeed look cool, and the icing on the cake is that it all seems to work! From the vacuum pump to the dwell meter to the tach! Now we can do our own distributor work, and save ourselves some time/money.

Pete: Thanks for the info...Casey did have one, and was cool enough to email me a copy of his manual!

Keith: I don't know if they have anything for the King units, but I stumbled onto this place that offered LOTS of instruction manuals for the older machines: 866-697-4777

I would love to pick up some more Sun stuff (I've been eyeing an old Sun system analyzer at our local high school for years!), and would be especially interested in the cart(?) that the distributor machine sets on.

They are definitely cool !! I just got mine a couple of weeks ago too. I'd been looking for one for about a year, and just stumbled across it on the Net, and it was only about 15 miles from my house !! I've put every points distributor on that thing that I can lay my mitts on ....... I'm setting up multiple distributors for the W-31 with different curves so that I can just plunk in a complete distributor instead of swapping springs and weights. Even though that isn't that big of a deal, if I've got a complete unit to swap in, I don't havta worry about the springs taking flight when I go to put them on in the car. Also - there was a guy that called me about a day after I bought mine that tried to buy it from me. He refurb's them, and sells service parts for 'em. His number is: 616-878-9734

Thanks for the info, Casey!

Quick question: have you ever been into yours? For some reason the unit won't fire the points any more, and the "strobe" isn't working. I tore into it yesterday, and couldn't come up with anything. Any ideas?

Yes I have. But more to see what the heck was in there more than anything. Coincidentally, the guy that I mentioned above said that they have a tendancy to stop *strobing*, and he has the parts to fix that. May wanna give him a call.

Casey:

Thanks for the phone number...that guy DEFINITELY is the guy to call for Sun stuff! Turns out my unit is a "transition" unit from around '55-'59, so it's kind of an oddball, and mildly difficult to find parts for...so it fits in with the rest of what we own!
